Initial Contact

Please contact me by phone or email if you are interested in learning more or scheduling an appointment. I appreciate the opportunity to speak with a potential client or parent briefly by phone to determine whether I am the right fit as a provider for the client’s needs, both in terms of clinical expertise and scheduling availability.

Intake Evaluation

The initial appointment is approximately 60-75 minutes. If the client is a child or adolescent, this first appointment is for the parents only. The purpose of this appointment is to discuss the reasons for seeking therapy or consultation and to obtain a detailed history of the client and family. I will then share my initial clinical impressions and a proposed general plan for treatment. After this appointment, potential patients can evaluate what we have discussed and decide if they are comfortable proceeding with treatment.

Therapy Appointments

Following the intake evaluation, therapy appointments are typically scheduled for 50 minutes, including the first session attended by child and adolescent clients. Depending upon the age and needs of the client, the following therapy sessions may include the individual patient only, the parent(s) during part of the session, or the parent(s) only; this format may vary over the course of treatment.

Payment

I do not participate with any managed care or insurance plans at the present time; however, many insurance companies offer some partial reimbursement for behavioral health services. You can contact your insurance company to inquire about out-of-network benefits. I will provide “Superbills” that contain diagnostic and procedure codes necessary for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
